 Are we trained to conduct the scans we provide?

All our ultrasound technicians are certified to perform ultrasound scans that we offer in the clinic and they follow the latest safety guidelines. The Baby Scans 4D Guarantee assures priority is given to the security of the service user as well as involving members of the family to enjoy the appointment.

What is the difference between a 3D and a 4D baby scan?

A 3D baby scans produce the three dimensional images of your baby. The fourth dimension is time and so a 4D scan is simply a moving video of the 3D scan. At Baby Scans 4D we offer the HD-live scans which is an improved imagery of the 4d scans – you won’t be disappointed!

Do you have toilets?

Yes, we have toilets on site, you don’t need to worry about drinking too much water! Our clinic offers fresh bottled water for all our guests.

How many people can I bring?

We don’t have a limit on the number of people you can bring with you as long as it is within reason. Comfortably we say upto 7 but are more than happy to accommodate if more.

What can affect my scan?

There are several elements of which can affect the quality of your images amongst others. They are BMI, position of the baby and position of the placenta. Baby Scans 4D will attend everything possible to gain the information and or image is expected

Do you check the pregnancy is well ?

Baby scans 4d are a non-diagnostic facility and we do not perform scans for diagnosis or for the purpose of medical treatment. In any case of concern, the ultrasound technician will ascertain further information from a healthcare professional and this may include a hospital referral. Rest assured with baby Scans 4D, your safety is at the very front of what we do.

Do you have any restrictions on who can book a scan ?

At baby Scans 4d we welcome families far and wide. However, we are regulated by the CQC for services for those over the age of 18 years. If you are under the age of 18, unfortunately we will not be able to confirm an appointment. As a non-diagnostic facility, we would also like to remind prospective clients that we are a souvenir scanning facility and do not offer medical treatment or medical diagnosis.

Is ultrasound safe in pregnancy ?

As aforementioned, your safety and that of your unborn baby is paramount to us. All current research encourages a professional, trained and experience cohort of staff. This Baby Scans 4D can guarantee. Also the exposure to ultrasound for cosmetic purposes needs to be regulated and not used on a regular basis. Baby Scans 4D recommend two 4d scans in pregnancy and these scans should not exceed 15 minutes.

You can easily choose from a wide range of appointment times through our online booking system or by contacting us through our contact page. We offer same day appointments and external referrals if required. Should your pregnancy be a little too early to provide evidence of a foetal heart, we will offer a return visit at a reduced cost of £20. If your baby is not cooperating during your 4D Scan , we will invite you back free of charge at the discretion of the ultrasound technician on the day.

When is the best time to have a 3D/4D baby scan?

Many clients opt to see their baby twice for a comparison this being around week 24 and again week 30-33 of your pregnancy. However, if coming the once 28 weeks to 35 weeks is perfect. Remember a scan can be carried out at any stage of your pregnancy and it is possible to obtain fantastic results at different stages. Remember all of our scans are offered one rescan at the discretion of the ultrasound technician if baby is uncooperative.

Is it necessary to book an appointment?

Yes, it is essential to book an appointment.

How long will my appointment be?

You should give yourself about 30minutes for your appointment. A bonding scan will last between 12-15 minutes depending on baby’s position. If they are in an uncooperative position, we may ask you to go for a walk, if this doesn’t move baby we will ask you back for one totally free rescan at later date. Early scans are up-to 10 minutes depending on your gestation. We prioritise the safety of you and your baby and do not over expose your baby to ultrasound.

Are children allowed?

Yes, children are wecome. We do ask small children to stay seated with an adult to prevent injury when the lights are dimmed.

How do I make a complaint ?

Baby scans 4D aim to excel the expectations of our clients. We have a rigorous complaints policy in place and aim to reply to all concerns within three days. A copy of our complaints policy can be obtained upon request by contacting the Clinic on the below details. Louise Wicks Gemmell  is responsible for managing any concerns. Should you feel your complaint is not acted upon in the correct manner or you feel you cannot approach the clinic with your concerns we recommend contacting the Independent Sector Complaints Adjudication Service.
